JAL NEWS - Launch of AA/JL Joint Fares

Dear JAL Valued Travel Partners:

Japan Airlines and American Airlines have filed joint fares that now allow the combining of JL fares and AA fares for a round-trip itinerary. Fare Amounts, Fare Conditions, and Fare Basis Codes have been basically aligned between the two carriers and you may now sell Japan Airlines and American Airlines equally.


1. Effective Date:
For tickets issued on/after March 29, 2011 & For outbound departures on/after April 1, 2011.

2. Fare Structure:
For tickets issued on/after March 29, 2011 & For outbound departures on/after April 1, 2011.

* Transpacific sectors can be booked with both JL flights and JL code-share flights operated by American Airlines.
* More US originating cities are now available for these fares.
* Most fares can be combined on a half round-trip basis.
  The most restrictive condition applies to an entire round-trip journey when different fare types are applied to the outbound vs. the inbound.
* Fares using booking M/L/V are available from selected US cities only.
* Fares are always subject to change without prior notice and will not be guaranteed until the ticket is issued.

3. Others:
* Always check GDS for current available fares/conditions. Fare sheet will not be distributed.
